Art has been a life long pursuit for me. Early on, I was able to capture likenesses in portraiture and began to receive commissions in both high school and college. I later expanded my subject matter to include landscapes and still lifes while retaining a passion for portraiture, which is the dominating force in my work.

I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Frank Manning, my high school art teacher whose love of art and high expectations of his students made him an unforgettable influence. His confidence and attention to my work inspired me to take a career in art seriously.

After college, I taught art while maintaining and increasing my artistic skills via commissioned work, formal art courses in drawing , painting and pastels and  art workshops. Along with the aid of excellent technical and historical art books I gained a solid foundation in art appreciation and an enhanced ability to create it.

Currently, I work and give instruction from my studio in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia.
